Sequoia Pediatric Hip Brace

The Sequoia Pediatric Hip brace is a rigid hip brace for use on one or both legs to either stabilize the hip in a fixed position or allow limited motion of the hip. It contains: Most braces such as the Newport hip Brace are not rigid enough to be used for single leg hip control and only work for both legs if the abduction bar is utilized. The Sequoia brace uses a very rigid torsal body section to ensure the hip joint is maintained in the desired position and/or range of motion. It consists of

a very rigid torsal body section
tri-planar hip joints, adjustable for flexion, extension and abduction, utilizes a split cam wedge that allows the orthotist to anatomically align and accurately position the hip.
bilateral thigh cuffs

It is an off-the-shelf orthosis available in sizes Small, Medium and Large

Toe Walker AFOs are off-the shelf Hinged AFOs designed specifically for Toe Walkers. Typically this pediatric population has minimal pronation or supination imbalance and is therefore an ideal candidate for a simple off-the shelf bracing solution.

Toe Walker AFO’s come as a pair in 8 sizes. Plastic AFO shells are a mat yellow color and straps are available in Pink, Blue, White and Black.

TRB – Talipes Reaction Brace

The TRB (Talipes Reaction Brace) is designed for the treatment of Talipes Equino-Varus Deformity (clubfoot). It consists of:

an adjustable Ponsetti type abduction bar connection with capacity to lock the rotation of each attached AFO at varying angles.
two OTS short AFOs with removeable posterior struts to restrict dorsiflexion
quick release button to easily attach and detach the AFO’s from the bar to make donning and doffing easier

LA-P Joints

The LA-P ankle joint was designed by Gez Bowman CO, MBAPO. The first generation was developed while working in Portsmouth, England and was later re-developed in Los Angeles to become the LA-P ankle joint. It is is a minimalist low profile ankle joint for custom fabricated hinged AFOs. This ankle joint provides a cost effective method for creating a free motion AFO or plantarflexion block AFO (when used with a posterior stop). it is designed to be a lower profile and more modern looking alternative to the old fashioned ‘Oklahoma Joints’.

Bow Brace

The Bow Brace is a new bracing option to maintain correction of CTEV (clubfoot) following Ponsetti casting treatment. Full details are still to be finalized. Expected release date is 7/1/2026.

Bow bar

The bow bar is a lightweight, flexible, plastic alternative to the heavy, rigid, metal DB bars used in CTEV (clubfoot) treatment. As initially reported by Kessler JI in JPOB – “…feet with initial deformity relapse were deformity-free after switching to flexible bracing. The flexible clubfoot brace may improve compliance in Ponseti clubfoot treatment.”

Designed for use with Markell shoes and as part of the new “Bow Brace”, a feather-lite bracing option for CTEV scheduled for release 1/1/2023
